Heartsaver CPR AED and 1st Aid
Heartsaver courses are intended for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.
This course is designed for management and employees in workplace settings, non-clinical hospital and healthcare staff, and the general public. This course is particularly important for family and friends of people who are taking opioid prescription medicine or those with addiction.
This course teaches:
- Recognition and response to an opioid overdose (administering naloxone and performing CPR as indicated)
- Basics of the opioid epidemic and opioid use disorder
- Understanding naloxone and how it works
- Importance of medical care after an opioid overdose
